Great challenge activity for students who are ready to read more than just to 1,000! (2nd grade standard) We've played this whole group (only with HTO) on whiteboards and kids love it - that element of luck adds so much engagement and drama! After we've all placed our 4 digits, students who believe they have the greatest number stand and say, "I believe that my number, ___, is the greatest number possible with these digits." Everyone else says "I concur" or "I dissent." Dissenters are called on to come up and they say the same statement, then state why they believe THEY are correct. It really is fun while kids are learning how to dissent appropriately and prove that their viewpoint is true.
