Student Instructions

Some food choices are good for anytime. Some we should only eat sometimes. 1. click on the add button. 2. Listen to the mini lesson by clicking on the play button on the first slide. 3. On the next page, use the move tool to sort the food into "anytime" or "sometimes" groups. 4. Tell what each food is as you sort it. 5. Click on the green check to add to your journal. As a bonus - Offer your child a new healthy food to try. Simplify: * You name the food as your child moves it. * Move the food for your child as they name it. * Skip naming the food and just sort it. Extend: * With your support, have your child identify why eating healthy foods is important. * Have your child name other foods that could go in the "anytime" or "sometimes" categories. * Have your child identify other things that help keep our bodies healthy like water, exercise, sleep, etc. Learning Potential (Utah Core Standards): HE 3 yr.4.1: Begin to identify the difference between healthy and less healthy food choices. HE 4 yr.4.1: Identify a variety of healthy foods HE 3 yr.4.2: Begin to identify why eating healthy food is important. HE 4 yr.4.2: Identify why eating healthy food is important and begin to categorize into food groups. HE 4 yr.4.3: With prompting and support, try new foods from a variety of food groups.
