Student Instructions

Read the poem and watch the video to learn about the Where I’m From poem by George Ella Lyon. Then brainstorm ideas that can reflect your identity and hometown. Before starting your draft, look at other student works for ideas and examples. When creating your draft do not rush. Be thoughtful and descriptive. Revise and edit your draft with a friend. You will then use your draft to create your video. Your video should include you narrating your poem to pictures that match your stanzas. You should use traditional or cultural music in the background.
