Color Water and Empty Cup Connection (takes a day or two to finish) Step 1 Line up 5 glasses in one row Fill the 1st, 3rd, and 5th glasses half full with water Add one color of food coloring to each glass with water Step 2 (Before adding: “What will happen?) Separate four absorbent, white paper towels Fold paper towels, length wise until about an inch wide Place one end of one paper towel in the first glass and the other end in the second glass Place one end of the other paper towel in the second glass and the other end in the third glass, repeat with remaining glasses (all glasses should have a paper towel connecting to another glass) Wait a day or two to see what happens (After: “What happened?” or “What changed?”, “Why do you think it did this?”) (All glasses should have water in them in almost equal amounts. Glasses that were empty should combine colors to create secondary color. Paper towels should combine colors in the middle, making secondary color)
