Based on Thinking Maps for Write From the Beginning grade 1, level 2. Images were found on Google. Connecting words: are, have, live, can, eat, etc Examples: Spiders are arachnids, different sizes, carnivores, hunters, predators, different colors. They have 8 legs, 8 eyes, abdomens, spinnerets, 2 fangs. They can spin/make webs, camouflage, eat other insects, lay eggs, be poisonous. They live in different environments, hidden spaces.
