Learning Intention: Improve general mathematical skills to work in retail. Read and answer the following questions. Try not to use a calculator and show your working. To solve using BODMAS, in order from left to right solve the Brackets first, then Order of powers, then Division, the Multiplication, then Addition and lastly Subtraction. Example: Solve (4 x 7) x 2 + 6 - 4 = Step 1- Solve the brackets first i.e. (4 x 7)= 28 Step 2- No Division, so solve Multiplication i.e. 28 x 2= 56 Step 3- Addition is next i.e. 56 + 6= 62 Step 4- Subtraction is the last step i.e. 62- 4= 58 Final answer: 58
