Student Instructions

Have you ever wondered what you might weigh on Mars or the Moon? Here’s your chance to find out! 1) First, πŸ‘€ watch the Brainpop Jr. video that will help you understand how gravity affects objects and their weight. 2) Now, click add to start the activity. For each question, you will need to read the quick facts about the planet. Then, you will learn how to find how much you weigh on that planet! 3) Use the online calculator to determine your weight on each planet. Your teacher will let you know how to round any large numbers that include decimals. Remember, check your work before you click check to submit.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

If you do not have a Brainpop account, there are many videos online that you could use to help explain why objects have different weights on different planets. Differentiation and modification ideas: -students can work in pairs -record the directions and/or word problems -gradual release (model, work as a class, then work on your own)
