Student Instructions
You are creating your own pepeha! 1. Fill in as many of the blanks as you can with your own personal information. Remember to use information from where you are from or where you call home. For example, if you are from the Manawatu, your river might be the Manawatu River. If you are from Africa, your mountain might be Mount Kilimanjaro. 2. If you are unsure of or not from an iwi, have a waka, or a have a marae, leave those ones blank. 3. You may need to add lines for additional parents, and that is awesome! 4. Choose at least 5, and be sure to end with your name and your school. 5. Record your answers in a note book or on the template using Seesaw tools. 6. Looking for a challenge? Add your siblings or add your favourite whakatauki at the end. 7. Read your pepeha aloud, practice it, then voice record your progress to Seesaw. As an added learning opportunity, share this with your whanau, teach them how to create their pepeha, and share it to Seesaw! Please remember, we are all learning as we go. We will make mistakes, but we are taking positive steps towards honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
