Overview: Assign this activity as a follow-up to Seesaw's I Love to Read Month virtual author event with author Lyle Jacobs. Lyle read his book, 'Good Times in the Badlands' and students learned how Wiyaka's interests helped her make friends and learn more about the reservation her parents grew up on. Now, students will highlight and explain their own interests that are important to them. Example: Wiyaka might draw a basketball, a horse, and an Eagle feather to highlight her interest in sports, horses, and her Lakota culture. Materials: Art supplies (optional - students may also use Seesaw tools) Standards: ISTE 1.6 Activity created by author Lyle Jacobs.
