Student Instructions

in this activity you will learn how to draw your name in block letters. You will use 1-point perspective to make the letters look 3D, and then decorate the design as creatively as possible. You will need the following materials: A ruler A pencil A rubber Pens(for outlining shapes) Coloured pencils Before you get started watch the following video on how to draw block letters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oOicMwjLpQ Instructions First write your name in block lettering - make sure you leave a space between each letter. Remember to draw lightly with your pencil as this is a tricky job. (watch the video again if needed) Then add lines to the top, middle (if needed) and bottom of the letters to begin to turn each letter into 3D (see example attached - how to draw 3D letters) Next use the lines to turn each letter into a block letter form( again see example attached or re watch the video) Then establish the vanishing point. (top middle of the page) Next draw perspective lines from the top of each letter out to the vanishing point. After that add perspective lines from the sides of letters Then outline all lines in pen. Next decorate the foreground and background of their name design by drawing in pencil, outlining in pen and colouring in with coloured pencil. Finally post a picture of your fantastic designs!
