Three ideas from OT -- with Play-doh

Three tips from the OT -- using Play-doh! To work on fine motor skills: roll it, push it, smash it, then use a plastic knife and fork to cut it and pierce it with fork To work on sensory skills: do it while kneeling at the table or lying on your belly propping on your elbows. And remember, all of that rolling, pushing and smashing provides a lot of sensory input to your hands as well. To work on self-help skills: use a plastic knife to cut it into pieces, then pierce it with the fork and transfer it back to its container, using the knife to push it off of the fork
