In the attached example, there is a separate page that gives alternate directions for students who are working from home and do not have a device that easily allows them to use the drawing tools. If your students are working in the classroom and you do not need the alternate directions, delete the second page in the Attached Example and the fourth page in the Template before sharing the activity with your students. In whole group, introduce the letter T and its sound. Show the letter and a picture that begins with the letter T. Gather materials like pipe cleaners, play-dough, wood pieces, plastic pieces, or paper strips to demonstrate how to build the letter T. Have students build the letter with partners and observe students while building. In small group, ask students to find the letter T in print and practice tracing and writing the letter T. ELL and students who need to support can be prompted to use the big line first and shown to start the letter at the top. Enrichment can include asking children to find objects around the room or school that begin with the letter T.
