LI: I am learning to summarise most of the important ideas and events in a nonfiction text. SC: I can ask myself “what facts did I learn first, next and last?” I can use the table of contents and subheadings to help me summarise. I can identify the important thoughts or events in the text. I can relate the important thoughts and events in the text. I can reflect on the important and overarching ideas or information. I can use my own words (paraphrase) to write a summary of the main events, in sequence.
