Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

This activity was created for fifth grade. It focuses around the standard of having students translate numerical expressions into verbal expressions. Ex. 5 - ¼ and not ¼ - 5 is “one-fourth taken away from five” Ex. (8 ÷ 4) x 3 is “the quotient of 8 and 4 multiplied by 3" This is a great activity for independent work, math rotations, review, and/or remediation. Here are the graphics I used to create this activity.--> https://www.canva.com/design/DAEtlNrbnFQ/kM23rMr5iZDW1_FznzIYjQ/view?utm_content=DAEtlNrbnFQ&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=sharebutton&mode=preview I also used the Chrome extension EquatIO to help me digitally write the numerical expressions. Here is the link to the extension. --> https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/equatio-math-made-digital/hjngolefdpdnooamgdldlkjgmdcmcjnc?hl=en-US
