Teacher Notes (not visible to students)
This activity uses a short informational passage to build reading fluency and comprehension for second graders. Page 1 captures oral reading for teacher review. Pages 2–4 include auto-graded questions that check key details and understanding. Pages 5–6 invite creative responses to deepen thinking. Prep: no special materials needed. For the multimedia task, allow access to a camera or drawing tools. High-quality paragraph answers should explain ideas using details from the passage (for example, naming natural materials and describing how people use or protect them). High-quality multimedia responses show clear connection to the passage, such as a labeled drawing of natural materials or a short video explaining how to care for nature.
