Part-Part-Whole: Adding Feathers to Turkeys (Sum of 10)

Grades: Kindergarten, 1st Grade

Student Instructions

You will need red and yellow counters for this activity. You will be using your knowledge of Part-Part-Whole to create a math statement for 10. 1. Place 10 red and yellow counters on your work area. 2. Using your counters and your knowledge of Part-Part-Whole, create a math statement to make 10. Use your Part-Part-Whole chart to help you. 3. You will now explain your math statement by adding feathers to your turkeys. (Figure out how many red and yellow feathers you will need based on the colors of the counters on your chart.) 4. move Move the correct number of feathers on each turkey to match your math statement (match the colors). 5. Use the mic to talk about your learning. What is your math statement? 6. Press the check when you are done.
