Creating Math Word Problems with Time

Let's use our math and writing skills to create word problems involving time. 1. šŸ“– Read the sample problem as an example. 2. šŸ¤” Think of an idea for your word problem. Maybe you want to write about baking, travel, friends, or animals. 3. Tap to add to your journal. 4. Write your own word problem using complete sentences. 5. Solve your math problem using a math strategy and :record: explain your answer and thinking. 6. Tap the green check when ready to share. Extension: Draw a picture that shows the story and answer of your word problem. Why: When students write their own word problems, they demonstrate an understanding of both sides of the process and how to connect learning to real world experiences.
