Instructions for Pupils

1. - Feel the outside of the shell. Can you feel the pores that let air in and out of the egg? - Carefully crack the egg open on a paper plate. - Identify the parts of the egg (yolk, albumen, shell membranes, chalazae, shell). - Take a picture photo of your egg and put it on the template below. (You can put your picture over the diagram on the first slide.) - Use the word bank to label the parts of your egg. MAKE SURE YOU WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER YOU ARE DONE WITH THE EGG!!! 2. On the 2nd slide, match the parts of an egg to their job.

Teacher Notes (not visible to pupils)

Use this activity to dissect a store bought egg. Students will use the store bought egg to identify parts of the egg.
