Student Instructions

When we talk about fair shares, it means that we have equal groups. Equal groups have the same number in each set. We can make fair shares by giving one object at a time to each set - we can call this dealing, like how we deal cards during games. In this activity, you're going to practice making fair shares. Tap add . On page 1, tap play to hear about how Peg makes fair shares of peaches for the pirates. Watch how she deals one peach to each pirate to make sure they each get a fair share. On the other pages, you'll see some of Peg's pirate friends and piles of peaches. Just like Peg did, give one peach to each pirate until you've used up all of the peaches. Use move to pass out the peaches. You can check your groups by counting to make sure each pirate has the same number of peaches. When you're finished with all of the pages, tap the check .
