Teachers, save “BOOK TALK Week of October 28” to assign it to your class.

You will be creating a book talk for your classmates to watch. Your goal is to persuade (or not) your classmates to immediately grab that book to read, OR to stay as far away as possible from the book you are talking about! To do this, you have to choose your words CAREFULLY. Here are your steps to making a BOOK TALK: Choose a book from the Epic! PLAYS or HALLOWEEN collection . Read it 2 times. Watch the video on "The Losers Club" book. Create your own book talk on your chosen book. Have a friend video your presentation. Be sure to state: the name of the book the author the events of the story leading up to the resolution (how the problem was solved). BUT.... DON'T GIVE AWAY THE ENDING (the resolution). Then give a feisty review of the book, trying to convince us to read or stop us from wanting to read this book, too.
