Movement and Wellness are important! But why? Movement is all about your making sure your physical health is ok, keeping your body fit and healthy. What about wellness? What does it mean? Your wellness includes your physical health, mental health as well as your social/emotional wellbeing. When we are happy and feeling great our mental health is great too, making thinking and learning easy and enjoyable to do. However, when we are worried, or feeling angry or upset about things, it can make it very difficult for us to think, focus and learn new things. As for your social and emotional wellbeing. Us humans need to be around people. It makes us feel safe, happy, loved and gives us a sense of belonging. Sometimes when we are not around our friends, like now with school closed we can find ourselves feeling a bit sad at times. This is perfectly normal, but it is not much fun when it happens. So let's take care of ourselves and each other by doing this fun dance activity. 1. Watch, listen and follow the dance video below. (Movement) 2. Copy and practice the dance moves in the video. (Mental health - can you focus and learn the moves?) 3. Practice until you can do all of the dance moves well and do them in time, along with the music. ( Social/emotional health - have fun doing it, and remember you are doing this for all your friends in class.) 4. Play the music, and record a video of yourself (and any family members) doing the dance moves. 5. Click the Check when you are done.
