Design your own Day of the Dead calavera (sugar skull)

The last few weeks we have been looking at drawing elements of ourself. Today, we are going to look under it all and work on our skull. Day of the Dead is a holiday celebrated in Mexico on November 1-3. It is a holiday to celebrate the lives of people who have passed. The holiday spotlights a lot of different art and art elements. We are going to focus today on symmetry in art. Symmetry is when something is the same on both sides. So if you draw a heart on side, it has to have a heart on the other side! Use the drawing tools to design your skull on the template. Be sure to make the designs symmetrical - the same on both sides of the skull. Attached are other pictures of day of the dead skulls to help you out with design ideas. Post on seesaw and leave thoughtful comments to each other.
