Student Instructions

Can you imagine doing something you love but never winning? This is exactly what happened to the racehorse Zippy Chippy! First, have a listen to the story 'Zippy Chippy, The Horse Who Couldn't!' by Artie Bennett. It tells the inspiring, true story of horse trainer Felix, and Zippy Chippy who in over 100 races, never won a single race. First, find words that describe the personality traits of Felix before then finding examples in the story of how he tried and tried to help his beloved horse. Next think about what the author wanted you to learn from the story and note down your ideas. Finally, you can then design a poster all about persistence - the quality Zippy Chippy had in abundance! As a challenge, you can actually write a letter to Zippy Chippy (the address is included)
