We Are Learning To: Identify vivid verbs within a text. 1. Read or listen to Chapter 6. Authors often use vivid verbs to give us strong mental images of what is happening in the story. 2. Do a detective hunt through this chapter and identify as many verbs (action words or doing words) as you can find that end with ….ing. (ing is a suffix on the end of a base verb) Eg. On page 67 – shooting, echoing, hanging (HINT – not all …ing words are verbs. Check that the words you select are doing/action words) Upload to SeeSaw. Make sure you use the +Response button under the correct activity in the Activities section.
