Student Instructions

1) Read the story of the Snail and the Whale. Click the link to hear it. 2) Think about the whale's song. Is he singing to the snail? What is he singing about? 3) Watch the video and listen to the song. 4) What other creatures could we sing about? 5) plus your own ideas using the song to help you write your own verse. You can print the sheet off and write it, record it with the microphone or perform it and use the video.

This lesson can be used within a series. The children looked at the front cover of the book and made predictions. Created a list of creatures that you could find in the ocean and acting out the story.
