Teachers, save “Nonfiction Text Features” to assign it to your class.

1) Take a photo of a text feature in a nonfiction book of your choice. (Remember, text features include all parts of a story or article that are not the main body of text. These include the table of contents, index, glossary, headings, bold words, sidebars, pictures and captions, and labeled diagrams.) 2) Use the pen or highlight tool to highlight the text feature you chose. 3) Write a short caption for your photo describing your text feature and how it helps you understand the topic of your book better. 4) Tap the check and add to your journal.
