Student Instructions

The SETTING is the time and place where the story happens. The time might be day or night, a season like summer or winter, or a special day like a birthday or holiday. The place might be a big place like a farm, a jungle, or outer space. Sometimes it is a small place like a bedroom or a car. When I want to figure out the SETTING, I ask myself, “Where and when is this story happening?” Let’s see if you can figure out the SETTING for a few stories. 1. Click on the add to start the game. 2. Look at the illustration. 3. Ask yourself, “Where and when is this story happening?” 4. Use the pen to circle the picture choice that shows the SETTING. 5. On the last page, use the photo to take a picture from a book you have at home that shows the setting. 6. Use the mic to tell us about the SETTING of your book. You could use the sentence, “My book is set in...” 6. Press check when you are finished.
