Student Instructions

Try this fun math game from Dr. Becky Bailey with a family member this week. 1. 🗣 Pick a family member to try the game with you. 2. 🤝 This game is similar to rock, paper, scissors except you play with numbers. Put your hands in the same position as rock, paper scissors: one hand open and the other hand in a fist resting on your open hand. 3. 🗣 Count to three together and every time you count, bounce your closed fist on your open palm. On the fourth bounce each of you holds-up some of your fingers. For example if player one holds out 2 fingers and the second player holds out 3 fingers you would add those two numbers together for the sum of 5 (older players can multiply the numbers) 4. Keep playing and having fun. 5. add Tap the add button. 6. video Take a video of you playing the game. Share what you liked about the game? 7. check Tap the green check to add to your journal. Challenge. You can try subtraction or add in other family members to make lots of different equations. Family Why: This activity encourages children to have fun with numbers. It also provides a wonderful "connection" ritual that includes eye contact, touch, presence and playful situations. Research shows that connection rituals are important for well being and academic success.
