Student Instructions

Woodland Style Art Creation with Ms. Bell Your Art Challenge: To create an X-ray Woodland style painting based on Norval Morrisseau artistic approach. 1) Watch the video I have created for you, it explains all of this! 2) Look at the examples I have included as templates to motivate, inspire you and to give you ideas before you start! 3) Use paint, markers or whatever kind of medium you enjoy working with to complete your own art project. 4) Choose an animal and sketch it out on paper 1st, then use a pencil and "LIGHTLY" draw the outline on the canvas (fill up the whole canvas!) You can go over the lines with sharpie marker later if you want to. 5) Next, think about the interior of the subject – the energy and emotion inside, think about patterns and how to make the colours *pop*! 6) Then draw the X-ray lines (using ink, markers, crayons, oil pastels etc), with colours (using paint, oil pastels, cut up paper etc.) and shapes inside the subject like observed in Norval Morrisseau’s art work. 7) Let your imagination take over as you fill the canvas with your paint! REMEMBER to sign you art work (all artists do!) and give it a name! Enjoy the rest of your day with a sense of calm! Virtual Hugs, Ms. Bell! 😊 👍 💟
