Thredbo is in the New South Wales Snowy Mountains at the foot of Mt Kosciuszko. It is famous for its skiing in winter. Each day, visitors can read the maximum and minimum temperatures on giant thermometers. Answer the questions below about thermometers and temperatures.
Teacher Notes (not visible to students)
Students will need to have them terms 'warmer' and 'colder' discussed. eg. When we work with temperatures a warmer temperature means the value increases. Warmer negative temperatures will be a greater value not an increase in number eg. -6 would become -5. -5 is warmer than -6.
