Student Instructions

Today’s activity is a syllable counting activity. Watch the attached video, ’Let’s learn about syllables’. We often clap along to the children’s names in Nursery to emphasise the syllables so this will not be a new concept but can be a little tricky for some children. Now it's time to try some syllable counting and record what you have learned. add Remember to tap the add button to begin. Say the word on the first slide then repeat it, emphasising the syllables. Next repeat the word and clap along. So table would be ta-ble with a clap on ‘ta’ and a clap on ‘ble’. There are 2 claps and therefore 2 syllables. Count the syllables for each word and then use the pen pen or pencil pencil tool to colour in the correct number. Remember to check your answers by repeating the words and counting each time to make sure you have coloured the correct number. Finally, tap the mic button to record. We’d love to you clapping your own name. How many syllables are there? check Don’t forget to press the green tick mark when you have finished so we can see your great work. check
