Responding to Different Online Messages Instructions: Explain to the class that online communication can sometimes be tricky because we can’t always hear someone’s tone or see their expressions. Tell the children they will practise replying to messages from friends in different moods. Task: Read the three example messages. Ask the children to reply in a way that helps the friend feel understood and supported, using a mix of text, emojis, and images if they’d like. Pose the question: What is the best way to reply to each message? Discussion: After the children finish, ask a few to share their responses. Discuss why some replies might be more helpful or appropriate than others.
