Australian Aboriginal Languages-Writing Sentences in Wonnarua- Ablative Suffix

Grades: 6th Grade, 4th Grade, 8th Grade
Subjects: World Languages

Student Instructions

1. Suffixes are added to Wonnarua words to provide additional meaning in a sentence. 2. Allative suffix: Indicates coming FROM somewhere. For example: We will from school. We-ERG future tense school-ABL 3. Different Ablative suffixes are added, depending on the word endings. See the table below and look at how the suffix changes. Word ending in Ablative Suffix Ng or vowel (a,e,i,o,u) -kapirang L, r, rr -apirang W, y, ny, yn -tjapirang n -tapirang 4. Click on add to complete the student activity. seesaw In the activity, draw pen a line to the matching ablative suffix for each word. eg. .....................-ABL .......................-............. 5. mic Record yourself saying each of the Wonnarua words with the suffix on each activity page. 6. Check your work before clicking check to submit your work for teacher feedback.
