Student Instructions

You have become Knowledgeable of some 2D shapes- triangles, rectangles, squares and circles. You have looked at the shapes and counted the number of sides and vertices as well as looking to see if the sides are straight or curved. Today, you will use this knowledge to make shapes! Get the shape placemats and play dough we sent home in the last supply bag. First, look at the video of me as I show you how I made a Triangle. You will see how I am rolling the playdough to make the straight sides of the shape. Next, open up your playdough and choose a shape to make first. Try to do all 4 shapes. You can do one and then save to draft, if you want. Take either a video or photo of you making the shapes by yourself. Tell me how you made the shapes and what do you notice about the shapes. Learning Intentions: To create basic 2D shapes.
