The video is by Scholastic and it is about a group of kids who made a big change in their community during the Civil Rights Movement. In the video, students will learn about how African Americans were still being treated unfairly in the South, and restaurants were still segregated. The kids worked together to form sit-ins. They preserved through hard times and chose kindness when others chose to be mean to them. In the Activity, students will answer questions about the video and about why kindness is important to them! They will also think of a time they preserved and how it helped them. This activity is great for Black History Month and learning about the importance of teamwork & perseverance!
