Stage 1 Phonics In Stage 1 Phonics Part 1 we are learning the names and sounds of each letter of the alphabet. Press the play icon (black triangle) to listen to the letter name and sound of each letter of the alphabet. Watch a video to learn more about that letter. Learn the Jolly Phonics song and action for each letter to help you remember each sound. Practise making the letter shape, saying the sound and identifying the letter name. Try spelling short words which contain that sound. Record yourself saying each letter name and sound using the mic tool. Then, use the mic again to sound out each of the words on the screen and blend them together to say the word. Finally, complete the family self-assessment at the end.
