Student Instructions

1. Use the stimulus book attached to the instructions to choose your answers. 2. Click on Add Response 3. Copy the Japanese sentence into your Japanese book and fill in the gap with the word of your choice from the stimulus book. 4. Use Google Translate for your character's name. (Make sure to use a capital when typing it into Google Translate). Use http://www.easyjapanese.org/write_hiragana.html to check how to write hiragana and https://jisho.org/ for kanji 5. When you have completed writing all 14 sentences take a picture and upload it to a new page on this activity. 6. Practice reading and then upload a video or an audio recording of yourself reading your story as the last page of this activity.

A The student can write with perfect or near perfect formation of the hiragana and kanji for all 14 sentences and can read the sentences back with excellent flow and pronunciation. B The student can write with good, neat tidy formation of the hiragana and kanji for all 14 sentences and can read the sentences back with good flow and pronunciation. C The student can read and write the sentences so they are understandable to a non-English speaking Japanese person D The student required some help to read and write each sentence. E The student required full support to read and write the sentences. (Modelling both the teacher’s pronunciation and writing).
