Today we will begin reading the biography, "Cesar Chavez: Champion of Workers." As we look through the text, we will do what all good readers do. We will note text features like headings, sub-headings, photographs and captions. As we read, we will determine what main ideas are found within the text and what details support them. Respond to slides 2 and 3 on your own. Follow along and read with me as we discuss events within the text. On slide 1, we will be introduced to new vocabulary that we will use in sentences.
