💨Hurricane Florence is a large category 4 hurricane approaching the North Carolina and South Carolina coastline. ⛈ With a diameter of about 500 miles across (800 kilometers), according to USA Today, Hurricane Florence is larger than Hurricane Katrina. (9/11/18) 🌊Using the attached map and its scale, what is the scale factor of NC’s approximate coastline compared to Florence’s diameter? 🌀Hint: If you begin with a smaller figure, your scale factor will be less than one. If you begin with the larger figure your scale factor will be more than one. 🌀Hint: Diameter of a circle is any straight line segment that passes through the center of a circle. ❗️Click the add button. ❗️Using the drawing, photo & mic tools record your findings. There is a student template of the map for you to use. ❗️Click the check to submit your response to your teacher for approval. Once approved, you will be able to see your post in the Student Feed.
