Grades: 5th Grade, 4th Grade, 3rd Grade
Subjects: Home Learning, Computer Science, English Language Arts

Student Instructions

Abstraction is the process of making something easier to understand by concentrating only on the most important idea. For example, we can draw a line curved up at both ends to show happiness, without drawing the details of either a face or a person. Can you take a photo of something and then do a drawing for some detail and least detail like the example? Use the template included. 1. Take a photo photo of an object 2. Simpler: Draw drawing a simpler design (you can also do it on paper and then take a :pic: ). 3. Simplest: Draw drawing the simplest design you can (you can also do it on paper and then take a :pic: ). Does it still tell the main idea of the photo? 4. Tell us mic what you learned about making things simpler by recording mic your thoughts . More if you can: Try another one!
