Showing Gratitude - Key workers: What is a hero?

Grades: 5th Grade, 4th Grade, 6th Grade

Student Instructions

Being a hero isn’t always about grand gestures, but making a difference to others. Who else can be super and doesn’t wear a cape? Not all superheroes wear capes! Explore the idea of a ‘key worker’. Who were the key workers throughout the time we were in lockdown? What made them ‘key’? What did they do? Explore the key workers and find out what they do. Your task is to choose a key worker job, describe what they do and explain why they are so important to our society, and to the local area . 1. Select add and choose the :draw: tool. 2. Use :threedots: to select a background for your work. 3. Use the internet to find a photo of your choice of key worker, save this to photos and use 3dots to upload the photo to your page. 4. Use label to describe your key worker and explain what they do. 5. Create a new page addpage and create a mind map describing why your key worker is important. 6. Check your work and use check to upload to your seesaw class journal. Remember to use the examples and instructions to help you!

Did anyone display rainbows or clap for the key workers during lockdown? Research local key workers in the area. Explore the key workers and find out what they do. Choose a key worker job and draw and write about the key worker and why they are so important to our society, and to the local area .
