Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

The Changing Pattern for Suffixes A base word or root word is a simple English word. A suffix is a letter or letters added to the end of a base/root word to change the word's form and use in a sentence. The spelling of a suffix never changes. When a word ends in consonant-vowel y, you must change the y to i before you add ANY suffix that doesn't start with i.
