Wombat Stew - Verbs

A verb is a word used to describe an action, state or occurrence. Verbs can be used to describe an action, that’s doing something eg. jumping. They can also be used to describe a state of being, that’s feeling something eg. likes. Or a verb can be used to describe an occurrence, that’s something happening eg. became. To begin, watch the two link to the left. 1. Types of Verbs 2. Wombat Stew Task - Press add - Page 1 - Use the highlighter highlighter tool to locate the verbs in each sentence (be careful some sentences have two) - Page 2 - Find FOUR more action verbs in the story, put each word into a sentence, use the label tool - Press check to share your work Australian Curriculum Achievement Standard - Students understand how similar texts share characteristics by identifying text structures and language features used to describe characters and events, or to communicate factual information.
