Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

This activity uses a short song video to teach subject pronouns to kindergarten students. Students listen to examples in the video, then practice by choosing pronouns that match pictures and short sentences. No special prep is needed beyond a device to play the video. For partner or group work, prepare picture cards showing one person, a group, an animal, or an object so pairs can practice saying sentences aloud. For each open-ended response: a high-quality answer for the "Think About It" prompt names a specific pronoun the student learned (for example, "I learned 'we' because it means more than one person") and asks a clear, related question (for example, "When do we use 'it'?"). For the "Show It" task, a high-quality submission clearly uses a pronoun correctly when describing the picture or action (for example, a drawing with caption "She is jumping" or a short video saying "It is cold"). Teachers should mark these open responses correct if the student uses a pronoun appropriately for the person/thing shown and incorrect if the pronoun choice does not match the subject.
