They are working on finding an efficient strategy to solve the equation and tell the total number of dots. In this game, we are looking for sums of 6,7,8,9,10 and can not use dominoes that add up to other numbers that are greater than 10 or less than 6. Encourage students to count the domino dots using an efficient strategy instead of counting by 1s.
