What are WORDS OF THE WISER? Words of the Wiser occurs when a character (who may be older and wiser) gives the main character or protagonist serious advice that could be helpful in this moment in story and/or helpful throughout life. The wiser figure shares his/her wisdom or advice in an effort to help the main character with a problem or decision. What is the life lesson and how might it affect the main character? 1. Watch the animated short movie, BOUNDIN' and answer the following questions; - Who is the "wiser" character? - Who is receiving the advice? - What is the life lesson? - How might this advice or information change or help the main character? 2. Use the text tools or microphone to respond to this lesson. You may also upload a picture from your copy. 3. Don't forget to give evidence or reasons for your answers. Explain your thoughts and thinking. Give specific examples and evidence from the video where possible.
Words of the Wiser usually help a reader or viewer understand or name the theme. Use the video when teaching students the Notice and Note Signposts to help them become a more active reader.
