Grades: 4th Grade, 3rd Grade, 5th Grade
Subjects: Music

Student Instructions

Hello Musicians, February was Black History Month and we covered just a few of the many contributions from African Americans in music. There are so many songs and stories left to share! March is Women's History Month. AND it's "I Love to Read" Week! So, today you will learn about at least 2 black women that made (or are making) a difference in music! There are 5 boxes that each have videos and stories or books about each musician. Choose at least 2 boxes from today's lesson board: and please pick one that is new to you! We hope you feel inspired by their music and stories and we are looking forward to what you learned about them! Ms. Shelton (OGE), Mr. Mac (OGE student teacher) and Mr. Scyler (HC)
