Use this addition problem string activity to help introduce double digit addition. Students will use base ten blocks to represent each addition problem and then solve. Students will develop a conceptual understanding of how double digit addition works by taking time to represent each problem. This activity addresses second grade math standards: 2.1.2.1, 2.1.2.4, and 2.1.2.5.
