Collect several (6 or more) sticks from your garden or on a walk. Lay the sticks down and put them in order from shortest to longest. Can you use a ruler, blocks or beads (anything that you have lots of the same size) to measure the shortest stick? How long is it? Now measure the longest stick. How long is it?
