Adaptations in Schoolyard Plants and Animals

Grades: 7th Grade
Subjects: Science

Student Instructions

Objective: Students will use various features in the Seesaw app to document & explain variation within a population or species that enhance their survival (structural, behavioral, reproductive, or physiology adaptations) found on the school grounds using an electronic device. Click on the add button on the Activity screen in Seesaw to post two photo with the following criteria: 1) Take a photo of an example of ONE animal adaptation found in the school yard. 2) Use the label button to label the adaptation on the image AND identify what type of adaptation it is (Ex. structural, behavioral, reproductive, or physiology adaptation). Click check. 3) Use the mic button to record your explanation on the image of how this adaptation allows that animal to survive in the schoolyard. 4) Click check & select your name (& partner if you had one) to turn in the image to your teacher. 5) Repeat steps 1-4 but this time take a photo of ONE plant adaptation in the school yard.
